Vulcan Village is California University of Pennsylvania’s apartment-style housing options. Vulcan Village is owned by the Student Association, Inc. (SAI) and managed by EdR, Inc. The Vulcan Village staff works hand-in-hand with both SAI and university administration related to activities, student conduct, student payments, and health & wellness concerns. There are 199 apartment units with 770 individual bedrooms, which houses student ranging from new freshmen to experienced graduate students. The apartments were constructed in two phases: Buildings 1-6 in 2001 (Phase I) and Buildings 7-10 in 2004 (Phase II).
The Vulcan Village staff is here to serve the needs of our residents and better ensure their health, safety, and personal development in an environment conducive for academic success. The full-time staff has over 88 years of combined experience in university housing. Justin D. Schiefelbein, M.S is our Community Manager; he has been at Vulcan Village for five years and has over a decade of experience in student housing. Our veteran maintenance team is comprised of Maintenance Supervisor Thomas Zemany, Maintenance Tech Jeremy Hodge, and Maintenance Tech Richard Morris, who take care of all of the maintenance needs at Vulcan Village. Jared Shiner is our Contract & Marketing Manager; he is CalU alum with more than 15 years experience serving the students and parents of CalU students.
