Here is your fool proof guide to everything love related!
SINGLES: Being single on Valentine’s day or any day is often thought of as the worst thing that could possibly happen. It is like going to New York City to shop and forgetting your wallet at home, going to Taco Bell for lunch, only to discover they have run out of tacos, or planning a beach vacation and it rains the whole time you are there. But Valentine’s day does not have to be like this! If you forget your wallet, enjoy the free sight seeing, if Taco Bell ran out of tacos, get a burrito, and if your beach vacation is rained out, swim in the rain! Just like these situations, Valentine’s Day is all in what you make it. If you think it is going to be miserable, lonely, and sad it most likely will be. BUT…if you make the most of the day it could be a fun time. Out of my 23 years of life, I have had a boyfriend for 1 Valentine’s Day. And guess what? The best one was not that year! Valentine’s day can be fun! Here are some ideas on how to make the most of the day:
1. Be your own Valentine!-Take the day to treat yourself for once. Do something you have been wanting to do, buy some flowers, chocolate, and a teddy bear and sit back and relax.
2. Have a singles party- You’re single, not DEAD! Live it up while you can! you have your whole life to spend with one person (if you so choose). But until that day comes, rather than waiting around for Mr. or Mrs. Right, go out and enjoy Mr. or Mrs. Right Now, YOU! Many people would love to be single again sometimes, so live it up! And by the way, its a lot easier to meet someone when you are outgoing and happy, rather then being miserable and feeling sorry for yourself. Happy people are much more attractive.
3. Get a different prosective on the holiday-So Valentine’s Day is about love, right? Right. There is no rule that says the love has to be between you and your significant other. Love is everywhere; friends, family, pets, coworkers, peers, children, etc. Look around, you will soon realize it is not hard to find many people you love. By spreading love, you will get love back!
These are only a few of the great things you can do for Valentine’s Day when you are single. The most important thing is to make the most of Valentine’s Day and everyday. Live in the moment, cherish each day, and have fun while your doing it!
